Bank Balance − Reserved Obligations − Safety Floor = Safe to Spend
- Balance — what is in the operating account (entered manually or learned from a statement).
- Reserved — money already committed to bills through your next payday.
- Safety floor — an optional buffer treated as unavailable.
That formula is the filter for every Kashu feature.
Not another budget app
Kashu is deliberately not a traditional expense tracker or bank aggregator. It treats timing as a first-class variable: weekly and biweekly pay, bill waves, and posting drift.
You feed the model by:
