Kashu setup manual: pay plan, bills, then statements
August 24, 2026
Kashu owns money. KINZO, DayO, and UPLIFT do not.
The order that works
1. Buffers — today’s balance, pay frequency (weekly / biweekly / monthly), typical take-home, next payday, safety floor. 2. Bonus vs regular — on a 3-pay month (typical biweekly October), say whether the last paycheck is a bonus. Otherwise Kashu treats three Fridays as three normal pays and later months go wrong. 3. Bills — type the bills you already know: mortgage, insurance, utilities, family transfers. Due day and amount are enough. 4. Upload a statement (PDF, CSV, or paste). Kashu matches those lines to the plan you typed. It should not create a second “RBC Mortgage” if you already named it. 5. Confirm leftover suggestions. Then use Calendar and Timing. Timing recommends a due day (for example mortgage 3 → 19, the day after a Friday payday). It does not change PAD for you.
What matching means
You teach Kashu the plan. The statement is evidence. Amounts within a small band and a similar merchant name attach to the bill you declared. Coffee and one-offs stay unmatched and do not become bills.
No bank connection required
No bank connection required. Kashu works with manual entry and statement uploads. Optional connected banking is being developed as a premium experience.
